DISSOLUZIONE

Luna Winter

The performance stromboli_terra di dio is a kind of self-test which plays with a system of temporary inconsistencies. It is an interweaving of timelines and a headlong dive into existing worlds in order to dissolve them through interplays and invoke a new creation. As “Pool-based”, they are determinations and it is through artifice that their liberation is embodied.

Digital media enables uninterrupted self-projection. The projections achieve a dissolution of the subject which merges a conglomerate of family fragments to deconstruct themselves. The artist employs the requisite subject-groups and transfers them into a performative framework. In doing this, a particular focus is set on the determining personality structures and emergent psychological patterns. Through this intended intervention, she is attempting to reconstruct temporal but intrinsic manifestations. She documents the instability of actual, bound existence and tries to cross temporal and spatial hierarchies and write personal histories through new media. It is a field test which tries to detach moments from their claim to singularity and arrange them anew as a “world-creator” – a demiurge – and transform the past and deconstruct simultaneous to the reconstruction.

ingrid_luna_stromboli is videoart born of the “abstract performance” stromboli_terra di dio. It is based on performances which are anchored in confrontations of the individual “life-worlds” of two family members. Supported by the projection, the temporal destruction and new constellation is achieved as described above. Ritual based actions are alienated and arranged in free contexts. Another dimension manifests itself in the form of historical documentation here in a form reminiscent of the movie by Roberto Rossellini. Ingrid_luna_stromboli uses the movie as staffage and crosses it with the performative development to defamiliarize the pre-existing dissolution from another time through projection and completion of Time Etched Transformation Art (TETA).

Am 10.05.2011 befand sich ein mumifizierter Student vor dem HS1 Gebäude.

Erlebnisbericht von Dominik Renz. Was hab ich dabei gefühlt als ich inmitten des Campus auf einem Stuhl sitzend, der wiederum auf einem Tisch stand, exponiert wurde?

Zuerst einmal ließ sich eine gewisse Vorfreude und Spannung nicht leugnen. Was wird geschehen? Wie werden die Reaktionen der Studenten ausfallen? Das Ungewisse vor und während dieser Aktion übte auf mich einen unleugbaren Reiz aus. Als meine KommilitonInnen anfingen an mir zu „arbeiten“ begann meine kurze aber intensive Zeit als Kunstobjekt. Dadurch, dass ich durch die Klopapierrolle anonymisiert wurde, fühlte ich mich gänzlich dem universitären Betrieb enthoben. Ich stieg aus dem alltäglichen Menschenstrom, der mich bisher dort mitriß, empor und war, so fühlte es sich jedenfalls aufgrund der akustischen Reaktionen an, nicht zu übersehen. Das Gefühl für Zeit und Raum nahm ich sehr viel bewusster und intensiver wahr als jemals zuvor. Wie lang würde diese Aktion dauern? Würden wir sie selbst abbrechen oder Dritte? Konnte ich so lange stillsitzen? Fragen die zu Beginn in meinem Kopf rumschwirrten. Durch meine Stellung als Exponat spürte ich nach kurzer Zeit meine Sogkraft, die ich auf die Menschen ausübte. Irgendwann später fingen Leute an mich mit „Sonderangebot“-Aufkleber zu schmücken oder besser zu bearbeiten. Die meisten waren vorsichtig und sanft, andere klatschten mir grob den Kleber auf Rücken oder Schuhe, so dass ich mehrere Schrecksekunden überstehen musste. Am unangenehmsten war die Aktion eines Fahrradfahrers, den ich trotz meines Verbandes erkennen konnte, als er mir im Vorbeifahren einen (Kleber) „verpasste“. Ich wurde aggressiv. Doch fügte ich mich bald einer resignativen Akzeptanz, dass Menschen mich bearbeiteten, nein besser: erschufen. Bald bekam ich Herzklopfen. Der orthostatische Druck in meinen Gefäßen nahm langsam ab. Eine Reaktion meines Körpers auf das minutenlange Stillsitzen. Meine Füße fingen an zu Zittern. Doch ich wollte nicht einfach so aufgeben und versuchte mich zu beherrschen. Das Gefühl von einem Beherrschtwerden durch andere übertrug ich also wiederum auf mich selbst, auf meinen Körper. Eine Besserung trat wenig später wieder ein und ich fühlte als könnte ich noch eine Weile diese „Existenz“ oder „Nichtexistenz“ fortführen. Als Kuwis sich schließlich zu einem Abschlußfoto positionierten, schien ich als Werk vollendet. Erleichterung trat ein, als mir meine menschlichen Attribute zurückerstattet wurden. Bleibt noch zu sagen: Immer wieder gerne und großen Dank allen Kuwis, die während dieser Aktion ein Auge auf mich hatten. Dominik Renz, 10.05.2011

On 10 May 2011, a mummified student was located in front of the HS1 building.

Experience report by Dominik Renz. What did I feel when I was exposed, sitting on a chair in the middle of the campus, which in turn stood on a table?

First of all, a certain anticipation and tension could not be denied. What will happen? How will the reactions of the students be? The uncertainty before and during this action exerted an undeniable attraction on me. When my fellow students began to “work” on me, my short but intensive time as an art object began. Because I was anonymized by the toilet paper roll, I felt completely removed from university life. I rose out of the everyday stream of people that had previously carried me along there, and I was, at least that is how it felt due to the acoustic reactions, impossible to overlook. I perceived my sense of time and space much more consciously and intensely than ever before. How long would this action last? Would we stop it ourselves or would third parties? Could I sit still for that long? Questions that were circling around in my head at the beginning. Through my position as an exhibit, I soon felt the pull that I exerted on people. Some time later, people began to decorate me with “special offer” stickers, or rather to work on me with them. Most were careful and gentle, others roughly slapped the stickers onto my back or shoes, so that I had to endure several moments of shock. The most unpleasant was the action of a cyclist, whom I could recognize despite my bandages, when he “gave” me a (sticker) while riding past. I became aggressive. Yet I soon submitted to a resigned acceptance that people were working on me, no, better: creating me. Soon I began to experience heart palpitations. The orthostatic pressure in my vessels slowly decreased. A reaction of my body to sitting still for minutes. My feet began to tremble. But I did not want to simply give up and tried to control myself. The feeling of being controlled by others was thus transferred back onto myself, onto my body. A short time later, an improvement occurred again, and I felt as though I could continue this “existence” or “non-existence” for a while longer. When the Kuwis finally positioned themselves for a closing photograph, I seemed to be a completed work. Relief set in when my human attributes were returned to me. It remains to be said: Always gladly again, and many thanks to all Kuwis who kept an eye on me during this action. Dominik Renz, 10 May 2011

Hochspannung im Teilchenbeschleuniger

Konzeptkunst. Es sieht aus wie ein OP-Raum, ist aber der Tandem-Ionen-Beschleuniger des Lehrstuhls für Experimentalphysik IV. In diesem stoßen Atomkerne aufeinander. Beim Zusammenprall werden Ionen freigesetzt. Die Messung der Anzahl/Energie dieser Ionen erlaubt u. a. Rückschlüsse auf die Atommasse (RBS-Methode / Rutherford Backscattering Spectrometry).

High Voltage in the Particle Accelerator

Conceptual Art. It looks like an operating room, but it is the tandem ion accelerator of the Chair of Experimental Physics IV. In this device, atomic nuclei collide with one another. During the collision, ions are released. Measuring the number/energy of these ions allows, among other things, conclusions to be drawn about the atomic mass (RBS method / Rutherford Backscattering Spectrometry).
